Why I built NeuraParent.

I'm Allison — parent of a neurodivergent kid, UX researcher, and founder of NeuraParent.
For years, I did what most parents in my position do. I consulted friends, family, and professionals. I read books. I went down internet rabbit holes looking for answers.
But the explanations I found rarely lined up with what I was observing in my kid. And though I received the same advice nearly everywhere I looked, most of the time it just didn't work.
I'd find something that helped one week, but it would fall apart the next. I'd search for patterns, but it was too hard to keep track of it all, and I was too exhausted to write it down. Some days it felt like I was starting from zero every morning, without any real support — and that was the hardest part. More than any single meltdown.
Along the way, a few things became impossible to unsee.
Kids do well when they can. Behavior is communication. Connection works better than control. And the right strategy — sometimes a very specific or creative one — can completely change the outcome.
I've spent my career as a UX researcher — sitting with people, observing how they interact with the world, figuring out what their real needs are and how technology can actually help. When I turned that lens on my own parenting, the answer wasn't another book, and it certainly wasn't a better reward chart. It was something that met me where I actually was: exhausted at the end of another hard day, struggling to make sense of what happened and figure out what would actually help my kid.
That's what NeuraParent is. A place to check in about the hard moments — while they're happening. A tool that remembers what's working for your specific kid so you don't have to. An approach that never relies on generic parenting advice, and never treats your child (or your parenting) as a problem to solve.
I'm building the tool I wish I'd had five years ago — one that helps parents feel less alone, less lost, and more able to trust their own instincts about their kid.
